Spotlight: Joan Dance, folk artist

Angel
Watercolor and Acrylic on Paper
16" x 12 1/2"

Since I have been spending a lot of time travelling over the summer, I have had a chance to re-connect with people who inspire me. (It also explains the lack of posting, but it's all good. I'm back on track.)

This is a new series I am trying out. Here's the idea: Instead of an interview, I just post what I want, about who I want, however I want. As long as I have permission, some good photos, and the proper links. Simple, right? Hopefully ya'll are inspired to check out these lovely people when you want. OK? Let's go then...

Name:
Joan Dance

Title:
Folk Artist

Why I am Inspired:
Spoiler alert. She's my Auntie. She taught me that it is a good thing to be creative in many ways. She has earned a living doing so. Before high school and college art classes, there was hanging out with Auntie. She taught me to sew, write, draw, and paint. But I never learned to bake quite like her. Still trying though.

Contact:
She has exhibited all over and been featured many times. Like here and here. And she wrote this book. For now you can purchase small paintings here on Facebook. And see what other projects and she is up to as well as other gallery shows.
